What are the key differences for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T

December 04, 2016 Android New Launch News OnePlus Reviews

The OnePlus 3 is, without doubt, one of 2016’s very best smartphones because it offers true flagship performance at half the price of most rivals. But just five months after release OnePlus has controversially announced an upgraded version called the ‘OnePlus 3T’.

So what are the differences between the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T and thinking whether to upgrade? Let’s take a look…

  1. Larger battery

If there was one area, where the OnePlus 3 fell short, it would definitely be battery life. It was not bad per se. but it was decidedly average and with more intense use it was often hard to make it through a full day on a single charge. OnePlus proved to be listening to user feedback once again and addressed this without actually compromising the beautiful design of its phone.

Yes, we now have a 3,400 mAh battery on the 3T, 13% larger than the 3,000 mAh cell on the 3. Yet the thickness of the phone remains at the same 7.3mm, and we’re glad that OnePlus retained that slim profile. While many cry out for maxing out battery, we feel that a large phone that the OnePlus 3T is will feel inconveniently bulky with a thicker body and we’re glad it has remained slim.

      2. Processor

One of the biggest differences between the OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3 is in terms of processor. To recall, the OnePlus 3 came powered with quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 coupled with Adreno 530 GPU and 6GB of RAM. The all-new OnePlus 3T packs the upgraded quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 coupled with Adreno 530 and 6GB of RAM. To be specific, the new Snapdragon 821 on the OnePlus 3T comes with two cores clocked at 1.6GHz and two cores clocked at 2.35GHz.

  1. Storage

One of the biggest qualms with the original OnePlus 3 was the limited 64GB inbuilt storage, which is non-expandable. It seems the company has definitely acknowledged user complaints and has introduced a larger 128GB storage model. The OnePlus 3T comes in both 64GB and 128GB storage models, compared to just a 64GB model on the OnePlus 3

     4. Camera

The obvious change is the new 16MP front selfie-camera as against the 8MP we saw on the OnePlus 3. And it’s just not the megapixel count that has doubled, but there’s also a Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF) for the front camera on the OnePlus 3T. The OnePlus 3T comes with a Sapphire rear camera lens and offers improved Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). The new camera lens will be more scratch-resistant, which will increase the life of the camera.

Conclusion

Just five months after release OnePlus 3, ‘OnePlus 3T’ is better, in camera and give more storage space for customer to have and faster processor. If you have ready have OnePlus 3, and u thinking of upgrade your phone to better speed, you can think whether want to change to the latest OnePlus 3T.
